It Didn’t Take Me Long to Learn to Love My New City

My husband begged me to allow him to take a new job that he wanted in another country. I wasn’t so sure about moving, but I said yes. It was the best decision that I’ve ever made. The first week here in my new country, I felt out of sorts at first. So he found a nice place where I could get a pedicure in Singapore because he knew how much I love to get my nails done. He felt that I should try doing some of the things that I love to do on a normal basis in my new surroundings so that it would help to acclimate me to the area. He is such a smart man.

I began doing little things each day to help myself become more comfortable. I normally walked for exercise every morning back home, so I decided to do that in my new city, too. I was a little disoriented at first and I even got lost during my first walk. However, by the end of the week, I was strutting around on my morning walks with confidence. I no longer needed a map, and I loved getting out to see my new neighborhood. I even got to know some of my new neighbors. Everything was so different from what I had been used to my whole life.

Little by little, I felt comfortable enough to look for a job. I found a great one at a nearby retail store. I really enjoyed getting to know my fellow coworkers. After just a few months, I recognized a lot of our repeat customers and even got to know some of them. As for my coworkers, they were always so nice to me. One of them bcame my best friend, and she really enjoyed showing off the many things she likes to do for fun in the city. I have the best time with her.
